Out of 481,119 Manitobans with one vaccine dose ...
... 410 contracted #COVID19 more than two weeks after that dose.
That's an infection rate of 0.09 per cent.

40% of Toronto nurses are considering leaving the field.
Workload has increased 10 X since #COVID19.
93% of nurses report mental & physical exhaustion.
I don't want to hear another politician talk about #NationalNursingWeek without offering nurses the protections they deserve.
Had the pleasure of talking to some @UM_RadyFHS Medical Students about #ruralmedicine across Canada at lunch! @SRPCanada @students_srpc @srpc_residents Looking forward to seeing them join us! #familymed

Them: Congratulations, so what next?
Me: Family Medicine
Them: Oh really? I thought for sure you would want to specialize... but that's nice.
Me:
A) Family medicine is a specialty
B) The most appropriate answer when anyone tells you their future plans is great/good luck!

Non-GP Specialist: No, I only deal with glioblastoma multiforme in <12yo. Try oncology?
Rural Generalist: We've got a 48M w a haemothorax + fractured radius. We've intubated, inserted an art line + chest drain & reduced the #. His dog's also here, fed & looked after in our ED.

We are seeing patients admitted to ICU with #COVID well after shot 1 and before shot 2.
One isn't vaccinated until fully vaccinated.
Given the significant delay between shots 1 & 2, clear communication on how to conduct oneself b/w shots from public health leaders would help.

Flabbergasted by the inconsistencies about vaccine information, what is the point in doing news conferences announcing plans for the week & no mention that the NEXT day 30 year olds have access in HOT SPOT areas?
People w/ language barriers are expected to learn from Twitter?

Severe #COVID19 pneumonia occurs in about 15% of patients. Case reports and observational studies have suggested that treatment with tocilizumab causes rapid fever reduction and reduces need for oxygen support. New research findings are summarized in a short video.
