We are now standing down DG VOST social pages and the website for the latest incident. Thankfully, the region appeared to dodge a lot of the usual damage this time around. Thanks as always for the comments and shares, and enjoy Santa when he comes to you and yours 🎅
The Amber warning that was in place has been lifted by the Met Office. There is still a Yellow warning in place. Heavy localised downpours of rain are expected all day/night, so we will stay 'Active' and flag any incidents via our map on dgvost.dumfriesandgalloway.g…. 🌧️ ☂️
The riverside car park on the Whitesands in Dumfries has been reopened following an update from SEPA. It may need to be closed later today once SEPA give a further update, but for the moment, it is open.

We're now standing down from the social media element of DG VOST, but we'll continue to work away in the background on the live incident map as and when hazards are cleared - orlo.uk/yLq6I Check out DG Council web and here for updates to council services. Thanks all ♥️
We have received reports of 999 outages, affecting landlines only, across some communities in the region. Mobile phones don't appear to be affected. Agencies are aware and working to resolve the issue. We will update once the issue has been resolved.
We are starting to see a few hazards clear across the region, but equally, we have received lots of new reports since first light. Please be careful out there, and thank you to everyone for your assistance in reporting trees down etc
It happened overnight, but the A75 has now fully reopened following yesterday's closure. Please be aware, like all routes, that there may still be trees, parts of trees and other debris on roads across the region.
Morning All. A huge amount of damage and hazards out there across D&G. Roads teams will be out at first light to inspect and assess the impact of Storm Eowyn. Our website is still live with our live map, as well as lots of useful links and phone numbers - orlo.uk/zbrR0
DGVOST Team are away for a kip but will be back monitoring from 07:00hrs tomorrow.
If you have an emergency overnight, please report these in the normal way to the appropriate emergency service.
As always, thanks for you posts & reports and we will see you tomorrow, Stay Safe!
Thanks for all your reports today of trees down and other incidents. Our live map at orlo.uk/7Zoq8 details all of the reports that have been verified. Please continue to keep an eye on the map, and follow advice to not travel.
We've experienced huge impacts from Storm Eowyn. While the Red warning is about to be lifted, an Amber warning remains. Roads will continue to be affected over weekend/into next week. The dedicated roads teams will begin work at first light Saturday. orlo.uk/0vV0d
