🚨 HEAVY POLICE ACTIVITY — AVOID THE AREA.
The North Texas woman arrested Tuesday after allegedly stabbing and injuring her husband and two young children at their Northlake home had been struggling with postpartum depression, according to court documents.
Holly Leeann Flores, 37, is currently being held in the Denton County Jail without bond pending a hearing. She faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
Northlake police officers responded to the 1200 block of Daylily Drive about 4:20 a.m. after a 911 caller reported that his wife was stabbing him.
"Dispatch stated they could hear female screaming, and at the residence there has been call history involving welfare concerns and overdoses," Flores' probable cause affidavit obtained by Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV states. The arriving officers saw a man with blood on his forehead walk out the front door and down the driveway. The man was carrying a knife, according to the affidavit, but obeyed the officers' commands to drop the weapon.
The man, identified as Flores' husband, told police that his wife and children were still inside. The officers entered the house to make sure everyone was OK. They handcuffed Flores for their protection and noted she didn't have any weapons on her, the affidavit states.
The officers found a 3-year-old girl and 11-month-old boy screaming in the back bedroom. They both had injuries to their chest area, according to the affidavit, and the little girl had also been stabbed in the stomach. Police provided first aid for the children until Denton County medics arrived.
Flores had a small laceration on her upper chest area and was taken to Medical City Denton hospital for treatment. One of the officers spoke with Flores in the ambulance and told her she was being detained as part of the investigation. #fortworth #dfw #fortworthtexas #fortworthtx #NorthlakeTexas
