Rosewater Loop has been transformed into a vibrant greenspace for the community. Locals, volunteers and students from Pennington Primary School celebrated the revitalisation of the old rail corridor and worked to create a colourful mural, led by artist Ella Simpson.

The project has converted nearly one kilometre of the former railway corridor into a community area linking to the Outer Harbor Greenway and Port Adelaide. Thanks to the community, Stakeholder Reference Group and students who helped bring this project to life.

The Penneshaw Jetty is now complete and ready to welcome locals, visitors and the warmer weather. The new design importantly has its own entrance separate from the ferry terminal, enabling public access at all times, including when ferries are berthing.

Originally built in 1902, the Penneshaw Jetty has served generations of Kangaroo Islanders and visitors. The upgraded jetty will continue serving as a treasured community asset while preserving an important part of Penneshaw’s history for years to come.

Semaphore Jetty will be partially closed from Tues, 13 October for maintenance work. This work is expected to take approximately one week. The section of the jetty beyond the beach access stairs will be closed during the work, but the stairs will remain open throughout.
