College football leaders have lost control over their constituents. The expanded Playoff became their solution.

No reason to be concerned about Texas right now, still think they’re safely in the CFP as a No. 22 or 23 seed.

"So, Kirk. A fourth loss for the Vols. What do you make of their playoff case?" "Well, Chris, I want you to look past the 0-4 record against ranked opponents. This is a team who played an SEC schedule, who could get hot at any minute if the committee just gives them a chance."

Throwback to last year when 12-1 JMU was ranked behind 4-loss Iowa who had ZERO ranked wins. Anyone who thinks the 24-team will allow for more “access” of any kind, except the access of 7-5 SECs and 8-4 B1Gs, is sorely mistaken.

The lack of urgency on any CFB Saturday is now gone. Every 10-2 team is in. Probably every 9-3 SEC/Big Ten team is in and even some 8-4. No suspense of failure. No big reward. No juice. Might be time to experience apple picking or a fall wedding for the first time ever.

I’m so glad people are catching on to this just being a way of gassing up prediction markets. Gambling is actively ruining the sport.
