EPA’s Mobile Lab is bringing rapid scientific testing directly to the Peoples Cartage Warehouse Fire Response. As part of the Unified Command, we are working side-by-side with @DEPWV, @WVDeptofAg, and local partners to protect public health and the environment. 🤝🌱
Inside the mobile lab, our scientists are analyzing soil and water samples right on-site. By reviewing sampling data and discussing findings with the state in real time, this technology gives local officials the information they need to make safety decisions for the local community and businesses.

EPA Region 3 worked with @DEPWV to provide air monitoring & technical expertise after the Peoples Cartage warehouse fire in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Specialized equipment was used to monitor smoke-related pollutants and check for any immediate health concerns. We appreciate the strong partnership with the state throughout this response. With the fire out and air quality remaining within public health standards, EPA removed the monitors on July 8th.
