This photograph, taken last week, of a four-meter-long male crocodile is elevated by the lighting conditions at dusk. Three hours before, it was all too bright and any photographs would be less dramatic. He is believed to be over 110 years old and weighs more than 750 kgs.

I didn't do much research into Mays for "Our Team," but I did read "A Day in the Bleachers" and interview Arnold Hano before he passed. It's an extraordinary book about a single game: the one where Mays made the over-the-shoulder catch. Highly recommended.
