And here's the article on @DDaleAnderson
Anderson told me, about a song from his future "Land Back" album: “Things get crazy in life, but what lies beneath all that is the heart passage.”
Highly recommend this up-and-coming jazzman.

Got to see Diné trumpeter @DDaleAnderson perform at Tucson Jazz Festival tonight.
Among other songs, he performed one note of his composition #thelongwalk, which commemorates the forced removal of Navajo in the 1860s. The song began last November and will continue until 2028.

We encourage you to seek out and learn more about Native artists this month on our social media channels and other resources.

ALT As we celebrate National Native American Heritage Month this November, we recognize Native cultures as innovative, nuanced, and essential elements of our historic and contemporary cultural landscape. The works of playwright Larissa FastHorse (Sicangu Lakota Nation), composer Raven Chacon (Diné/Navajo), visual artist Wendy Red Star (Apsáalooke (Crow), to name just a few Native artists and culture bearers, help us understand our world from different perspectives. They offer us windows into diverse ways of thinking, feeling and being--helping us recognize our commonalities and meaningful differences, lifting up our humanity.
"“I’m a rez boy,” Anderson said, after pulling into a Navajo roadside stand for fry bread, onions and mutton flecked with enough green chiles to draw tears." - The New York Times
