A new case study of Gujarat's reforms (2001-2026) argues that political prioritisation, sustained financing, cross-government partnerships and community ownership mattered as much as hardware. Indian hockey deserves better. 🏑🇮🇳
The World Cup saw the jersey controversy. Now, just ahead of the Asian Games, another controversy has emerged.
At a time when our players are training relentlessly and need complete focus and confidence, internal matters of Hockey India are being taken to the media. More troubling is the alleged bypassing of the Executive Committee and established governance norms.
With Hockey India elections around the corner, such unilateral actions and media pressure raise serious questions about the intent and timing. Governance is meant to strengthen institutions, not create turbulence around major tournaments.
The Executive Committee exists for a reason. Decisions affecting Indian hockey must follow due process, collective responsibility and the organisation’s bylaws.
Let our players focus on the game. Keep the politics out.

For a tribal family, a road is not just a way to reach the next village. It can mean a child reaching school on time, a patient reaching a hospital sooner, a farmer taking produce to market and a community reaching opportunities that once seemed distant.
In Srikakulam, that connection is now reaching 291 tribal habitations, backed by Rs 198 cr for road development.
District Collector Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar, IAS, highlighted the effort as part of the government’s focused measures for the welfare and development of tribal communities.

A proud milestone for the Baghpat District Administration, led by District Magistrate Smt Asmita Lal, IAS.
Through a focused and well-executed public health campaign, the district successfully facilitated HPV vaccination for 3,586 girls aged 14–15 years, helping protect them against cervical cancer. The initiative, implemented with the active support of the district and police administration, is a shining example of effective governance delivering lasting health outcomes.
For this outstanding contribution to public health and adolescent girls' welfare, the Hon'ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt Anandiben Patel, honoured the Baghpat District Administration with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Congratulations to DM Smt Lal, the Health Department, police administration, frontline healthcare workers, and every individual who made this achievement possible.

While the heat rises, IAS officer and Baghpat DM Asmita Lal is making sure kindness doesn’t dry up in this sugarcane belt.
The 'Baghpat Bowl' initiative - water bowls placed across the district for birds and stray animals - is compassion in its simplest, purest form.
At an event in Baraut, the Bureaucrats India team received one such bowl, and honestly, it may just be the most meaningful souvenir ever.

Residents of the Government Old Age Home at Mandepalli will soon get an opportunity to visit the Tyagaraja Swamy Aradhana Utsavams at Vemulawada, thanks to a thoughtful initiative by Rajanna Sircilla In-charge & District Collector, Garima Agrawal, IAS.
During her visit to the old age home, she spent time interacting with senior citizens, distributed fruits, and, more importantly, listened to them with care. When they shared their wish to visit the revered Utsavams, she ensured it became a reality.
