A new laser scanner just dropped that tracks a handheld unit from across a hangar with zero sticker markers on the part. The number that stopped us mid-coffee is not the range though. It's what it does to the cost of copying a part nobody makes anymore. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What's the one part you'd clone if you could scan it today? #3DScanning #ReverseEngineering

Need a silicone gasket, grip, or seal and got quoted weeks (and a scary number) for a metal mold? We skip the metal entirely. The mold comes off a printer instead, and it works because of one thing about how silicone cures that most people never hear. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What soft part have you been putting off because the tooling cost too much? #SiliconeCasting #3DPrinting

Apple's new foldable iPhone has one part on it that a bunch of us in the shop have been staring at all week. It's tiny, it's titanium, and it did not come out of a CNC machine. There's a second trick hiding in how they finish it too. Full story on the blog, link in bio. Would you trust a printed part on a $2,000 phone hinge? #3DPrinting #iPhoneDuo

Happy Labor Day for those that deserve rest. The only worker we have that doesn't seem to rest is our Vision Miner 22IDEX V4. Yes thats a glass build plate. First time using it on this run. Thought we would try it out. So far so good. I was going to put some Linkin Park music to this or maybe some 311 but left it like it was. Maybe later I will drum it up.

The biggest name in desktop 3D printing might be building something that is not a 3D printer at all. A hiring page in China just gave the whole thing away, and yes, it involves ink. Full story on the blog, link in bio. If your printer could put full color graphics on anything in your shop, what would you print first? #3DPrinting

A company in Florida just started 3D printing cushions that are firm in one spot and soft in another. Same piece, same material, zero foam. The secret is hiding in the geometry, and it works for way more than seating. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What's the one chair or seat that always makes your back angry? #3DPrinting

Scientists just 3D printed blood vessels thinner than a hair. The wild part is how they nailed the print settings, same fight you have with every new spool. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What's the smallest print you've ever pulled off? #3DPrinting

A defense contractor needed a critical part changed. Normal quote for that kind of job? Months. It got done in 7 days. The how is the interesting part. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What's the longest you've waited on one replacement part? #3DPrinting

A space agency just put a satellite frame through its full test campaign. It wasn't aluminum. It wasn't titanium. It came off a 3D printer, and the test numbers made us do a double take. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What's the one part you'd never trust plastic to replace? #3dprinting

Two AI tools got scary good this week at turning a photo into a printable 3D model. But a photo can't tell you the one thing that decides if a part actually fits. Full story on the blog, link in bio. Would you trust AI with a part that has to fit something? #3DPrinting

Ford just filed a patent that quietly deletes a whole category of car parts. No hoses, no clips, no fittings. The part IS the plumbing. Full story on the blog, link in bio. What part on your car would you redesign from scratch if you could? #3DPrinting

Researchers just figured out how to stop vibration before it ever reaches a sensor. No rubber. No foam. No springs. The trick is hidden inside the shape of the mount itself, and a 3D printer can make it in one piece. We broke down how it works and where it shows up first (full story on the blog, link in bio). What's the most vibration-plagued machine in your shop? #3DPrinting

I wonder if I can get @grok with @bot along with @claudeai to team together, collaborate amongst each, argue, brainstorm and challenge other, make decisions and do all what we need done here so I can maybe take a small break before summer ends. Each of them have their key things they do best. Wish-full thinking but what if...

A new patent shows NINE hotends parked inside one desktop 3D printer, swapped in a single motion. No purge waste, no babysitting. We dug into who filed it and what it actually claims. Full story on the blog, link in bio. How many materials would you honestly use in one print? #3DPrinting

First order with @sendcutsend and they already sold me before seeing my requested cut with this little treat. This is an excellent PR move. I am stealing it, lol. BTW, the parts fit perfectly!

Prusa just quietly rebuilt its entire printer lineup and kept every single price the same. New belts, nozzle wipers, faster starts, and one detail buried in the announcement that changes the math on what a printer is actually worth over its life. Full breakdown on the blog, link in bio. If you run a printer every day, what is the one small annoyance you wish the manufacturer would finally fix? #3DPrinting
