Update: @ChmnMendelson has responded to CFO Glen Lee's letter that objected to the D.C. Council's plan to pull $150 million from reserves for the 2027 budget. "Use of local reserve funds to support appropriations... is a policy decision" the council can make, he writes.
NEWS: D.C. CFO Glen Lee is objecting to the D.C. Council's plan to use $150 million from the city's reserves to restore funding for some social programs that were cut to close the 2027 budget deficit. If the council proceeds, he threatens to declare the budget "unbalanced."
