Unless you plan to marry or sleep with the person you're interacting with, their political ideology shouldn't be any of your concern. The self-professed "liberals" — especially the privileged ones who don't even know the full definition of 'liberal' — are as venomous as the people on the other side in certain situations. Basically, a "right-wing" mindset under different labels. Their "activism" is confined only to social media, and they live under the delusion that posting some words online can change the world. If doing that was so effective, how did the fascists get elected to power in different parts of the world? When it comes to doing the practical work, these "liberals" find it difficult to give up their privilege. And they sometimes struggle to call out the errant ones in their midst because they fear their "movement" getting tainted. They remain quiet. So maybe they should start re-evaluating their so-called activism (performative) and get out of their houses — be it their own or their parents' — more, see the world and understand the harsh realities of different people, places, and institutions instead of sitting comfortably in front of a screen, telling other people to "grow a spine."
