ALT Freedom Day - Juneteenth: Freedom, Resilience, Legacy. Today we honor Juneteenth — a powerful reminder that freedom delayed is not freedom denied. Let’s celebrate, reflect, and continue the march toward justice. Quote: "Struggle is a never ending process. Freedom is never really won, you earn it and win it in every generation." - Coretta Scott King

ALT A big thank you to everyone who submitted to the 2026 DASH Literary Journal! We are incredibly grateful for your creativity, your trust, and the opportunity to experience your work. Thank you for being part of the DASH community!

ALT Responses were sent to all contributors the end of March 2026. The journal is currently at the printers and will be published in late spring. Contributing authors will receive a printed copy of DASH in the mail. A digital version should be available through the CSUF English Department website in the near future. https://english.fullerton.edu/students/dash.html

ALT Question: How did you come to be the DASH advisor? Answer: Over the past 15 years I've worked on literary journals and small presses in different capacities. Once I came to CSUF, it made sense to continue this work by advising DASH. It's been thrilling to see how inventive, hardworking, and smart all the students have been as they put this issue together. Question: Will you continue to be the DASH advisor next year? Answer: I will!

ALT Question: What are your hopes for the journal? Answer: I hope that the journal continues to give students hands-on experience. I hope that DASH's overall shape, structure, tone, and content evolves with the students and writers who help create it. Question: What do you want your students to get out of the class? Answer: I hope students carry with them the skills that they develop and hone while creating the journal. I hope they continue to create and develop spaces that showcase the art that matters most to them.

ALT Biography: In the classroom, students create fantasy worlds and persona poem narrators through imaginative play. As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Wells values conversations about whose stories are told, whose voices are heard, and how students can see themselves as experts.
