اختتمت جائزة أبوظبي للتميز في دمج أصحاب الهمم - دمج دورتها الأولى في حفلٍ استثنائي جسّد رسالتها، أي تحويل الدمج من مفهوم إلى ممارسة يومية ومستدامة، إذ كان أول حفل في أبوظبي يُصمَّم ليكون دامجاً وسهل الوصول للجميع. فمن الخدمات الدامجة والتوظيف الدامج إلى إمكانية الوصول الفيزيائية والرقمية، أثبت الفائزون خلال هذه الدورة أنّ الدمج يبدأ بقرار ليتحوّل إلى فارقٍ ملموس في حياة أصحاب الهمم والمجتمع بأسره. The Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion - Damj wrapped up its inaugural cycle in an exceptional ceremony embodying its mission, shifting inclusion from a concept to a daily and sustainable practice, where it was the first event in Abu Dhabi to be designed with inclusion and accessibility in mind. Through inclusive services, inclusive employment, and physical and digital accessibility, this cycle’s winners proved that inclusion begins with a decision that translates into a tangible impact in the lives of People of Determination and the community.

How does experiencing barriers firsthand change our perspective on the services and environments around us? During the Damj Award Ceremony, attendees took part in interactive experiences that revealed how barriers can make everyday tasks more difficult, highlighting the importance of designing environments, services, and information that enable everyone to access and participate independently. The Damj Award therefore encourages entities to adopt inclusive institutional policies and practices that remove barriers, empower People of Determination, and promote equal opportunities.

كيف تتغيّر نظرتنا إلى الخدمات والبيئات المحيطة حين نختبر العوائق بأنفسنا؟ خلال حفل تكريم الفائزين بجائزة "دمج"، خاض المشاركون تجارب تفاعلية أظهرت كيف يمكن لبعض العوائق أن تجعل المهام اليومية أكثر صعوبة، وأتاحت لهم فهم أهمية تصميم بيئات وخدمات ومعلومات تتيح للجميع الوصول والمشاركة باستقلالية. ومن هذا المنطلق، تشجّع جائزة "دمج" الجهات على تبنّي سياسات وممارسات مؤسسية دامجة، تزيل العوائق وتدعم تمكين أصحاب الهمم وتكافؤ الفرص.

Behind every student who feels they belong in the classroom, there is someone who believed in their abilities, understood their needs, and made sure they found their place among their peers. On World Teachers’ Day, we thank every teacher who helps make inclusion a reality every day, giving every student the opportunity to learn, participate, and communicate.

وراء كل طالب يشعر بأنه جزء من الصف، هناك من آمن بقدرته، وفهم احتياجاته، وحرص على أن يجد مكانه بين زملائه. في اليوم العالمي للمعلمين، نقول شكراً لكل معلم يساهم كل يوم في جعل الدمج واقعاً، ويمنح كل طالب فرصة ليتعلم، ويشارك، ويتواصل.

في اليوم الدولي للغات الإشارة، نؤكد على أهمية الاعتراف بلغة الإشارة بوصفها حقاً أصيلاً من حقوق الأشخاص، وأساساً لبناء مجتمع دامج تكون فيه أصوات الأشخاص الصم ووجهات نظرهم جزءاً أساسياً من القرارات التي تمس حياتهم.

On the International Day of Sign Languages, we emphasize the importance of recognizing sign language as a fundamental right and as a foundation for building an inclusive society, where Deaf people’s voices are an integral part of the decisions that affect their lives.

Celebrating Emirati women means honoring their journeys, like that of Afraa Al Ka'abi, a special education teacher and a mother of a POD Child, whose devotion captures the spirit of giving. Her experience illustrates how Emirati women contribute to advancing inclusion.
