this will be one of my most controversial tweets but we were all sold a lie. i’m 39, male, healthy, fit, but insanely focused on work and i’m realizing the whole culture i lived in destroyed family formation. it’s self evident in the statistics and entire countries are dying off. we never changed biology and yet entirely changed the culture. incredible i’m writing this for the younger guys and gals to figure out your marriage in your twenties and have kids early. i remember when i mistakenly thought i had a lot of time in my late twenties / early thirties. dig into biological fertility and correlation of healthy babies tied to age of parents. people reflexively talk about medical advances and ivf and freezing eggs but many of those things have really high failure rates and they should be the last resort. the key reason i moved to austin was to lock this down. find a girl, fall in love, and start a family almost turning 40 changes perspective. when i was young, i was envious of success and now i’m only envious of happy families. there’s nothing more precious than kids, a loving husband / wife and living a life of meaning. the culture of delay that was fed to our entire generation is a lie and we can’t have it all. there are tradeoffs. and if enough of us talk about this, maybe we can change the culture so that the younger kids don’t follow our mistakes. but yea i’m intensely focused on finding the wife in austin, lmk if you know anyone great
