The NFC East winning 0 games on a week in which two teams played each other feels like a pretty good encapsulation of the division at the moment

The Little Brass Bell goes back to Wheaton! No. 2 Wheaton 13, No. 1 North Central 10! #d3fb
The distribution of No. 1 votes in tomorrow’s @d3football top 25 poll should be interesting.
No. 2 Wheaton might siphon them all, but voters who didn’t like the low-scoring nature of the game could make a case for St. John’s or UW-Whitewater or UW-Platteville. #d3fb
If you weren’t watching Wheaton/NCC, and you just look at the box score, you might be convinced otherwise, but Wheaton won that game more than North Central lost it.
Great defense and special teams, answered the bell down a TD, converted 2 & masterful clock management #d3fb
I'll play Mikey's game.
On my ballot but not in the @d3football top 25: Utica (16th), Wabash (19th).
In the poll but not on my ballot: No. 24 Susquehanna, No. 25 Randolph-Macon.
I'm pretty close to consensus in most places, but the poll has UW-P 3rd and I have them 12th. 😬

(3/3) ❌ I’m NOT ranking:
#18 Chris. Newport
#24 Susquehanna
#25 RMC
☑️ I AM ranking:
#20 UW-Stout
#21 Springfield
#22 Utica
📊 I ranked 65 teams this week, feel free to ask where your squad is at!

In recognition of the new NFL and #d3fb seasons underway, here’s my count of NFL HCs, coordinators and GMs who are grads of D3 schools, ex-players, or coached at one.
Did I miss anyone? FBS obviously has the most, but there are a lot of FCS and D3 coaches.
There is truly nothing new under the sun.
D3 did the one-extra-second-on-the-clock-that-changes-the-outcome bit *25 years ago* … ** to decide a spot in the title game**

Big games give us a fresh top 5 of @NCC_Athletics, @Wheaton_Thunder, @HopkinsSports, @uwp_pioneers, and @BethelRoyals after the first week of the season.

Which is how it should be. Then again when I did your poll and how I do Delaware high schools I’ve been questioned how teams don’t drop (or sometimes go up) with losses. Instead of that being mostly a confirming data point

Shakeup in the Top 25; actually, in the top five. Who's No. 2? It might not surprise you. d3football.com/top25/2026/we… #d3fb
Just filed a top-25 vote for @d3football that had North Central and Wheaton at the top together, certainly for the first time.
In yesterday's writeup they were called the Little Brass Bell Brothers but I'm not sure I'm ready to adopt that.
No. 2 Bethel (losing at No. 1 NCC) and No. 10 UW-La Crosse (losing to No. 11 St. John's) shouldn't fall too far either.
Some top-25 teams who played good competition should leapfrog teams who won big. UW-Whitewater fell on my ballot but not b/c they did anything wrong. #d3fb
Last snap reax after filing the Week 1 vote: I made room for Linfield and Cortland in my top 25 after impressive Week 1 wins; they bumped W&J, which lost to Utica, and Wesleyan, which doesn't play til Wk 3.
Utica won't make this week's top 25 but mark me as on them early. #d3fb
Philly traded a 29-year-old disgruntled and possibly misunderstood Brown in the prime of his career to New England, and Boston sent one right back.
The issue with basing reports on "team sources" or other descriptions of anonymity is not that the sources aren't real; they almost certainly are. But the lack of detail about who is speaking robs the reader of the ability to contextualize, wonder if there's an axe to grind, etc.
