Mayor Sutcliffe wants to see the parkways open "more often" to vehicles than the NCC is proposing. The NCC tells CTV News Ottawa the Queen Elizabeth Driveway Active Use Program takes place, "on roadways that were always intended to serve as SCENIC ROUTES, not COMMUTER ROADWAYS."

Mayor Sutcliffe calls closure of Queen Elizabeth Driveway to cars unnecessary

Beginning July 1, the driveway is closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, reopening on the Tuesday after Labour Day.
