I feel that Harley Quinn is the biggest example of "Lost in Translation" i've ever seen in a fictional character.
She was originally meant to be a floozy henchwoman, who quite literally was meant to be comic relief, to the jokers legit insanity. Harley was also meant to be a tragic case study on how innocent people, are susceptible to brainwashing & falling into madness.
Her character got so flandarized & bastardized, by feminists, that she's no longer recognizable.
