When it comes to Iran I wanted to weigh in with my opinion, but recognizing the fact that I'm not going to change anyone's mind, I decided to do something more productive. Research the objective numbers and share them with all of you: Current national debt: $38.8 trillion which greatly exceeds GDP Current national deficit: $1.9 trillion, projected to rise to $3.1 trillion within the next decade Current annual military spend: roughly $1 trillion, with the administration trying to push it to $1.5 trillion Total cost of the Iraq war: approximately $2 trillion ($2,000,000,000,000.00) Total cost of all wars post 9/11: on the order of $8 trillion When you compare Iraq in 2003 when the US invaded to Iran today, Iran has a population that is 240% larger, a military that is 40% larger and the landmass is 280% larger. I haven’t seen any credible budget or macro analysis that suggests any of this could work out financially in the long run. Where do you guys think this is headed 🤔

Tariffs have had very little effect on my business. We do a lot domestically, so I am not personally hurt by them 🇺🇸 What still amazes me is how many people do not understand who actually pays for tariffs. It is not foreign suppliers. Most of them already run on thin margins. They cannot absorb a ten or twenty percent tariff and stay in business. They push that cost to U.S. importers, who push it to U.S. retailers, who push it to you. In practice, tariffs function like a federal sales tax on imported goods. Multiple studies have shown that approximately 90% of the cost of tariffs is passed on to the consumer. So when people cheer “record tariff revenue” as if it is coming from someone else’s pockets, they are cheering a tax on THEMSELVES 😆 This means when you buy s*** quality overseas suspension that is hundreds of dollars more expensive than it was a couple years ago, you are not actually getting something worth more money. What a completely f****** ridiculous situation this is 🤦🏼‍♂️ The Trump administration may have effectively *rewarded* U.S. corporations for not manufacturing in the United States. I know I said I probably wouldn’t make a third post about this, but the irony of today’s Supreme Court decision is too much to ignore. For those who missed it: the Supreme Court struck down Trump's “emergency” global tariffs today as unconstitutional. The duties were real, though, and importers have already paid well over $100 billion of them. Now those importers can go after refunds. You, the consumer who actually paid for the bulk of those tariffs through higher prices, GET NOTHING. Here’s how it worked in practice: U.S. companies who source or manufacture products overseas paid the new tariffs when these products entered the United States. Largely, they paid these tariffs by raising retail costs on the consumer which means US consumers are the ones who paid extra. Now that the legal basis for the tariffs is gone, those same importers may get back a big chunk of what they paid. If that happens, they keep the refund which means their profits on foreign sourced and manufactured goods increased... rewarding them for not making products here in the US. The *opposite* of what the administration was apparently trying to do. I manufacture in the United States. I didn't raise prices to cover these tariffs because my product isn't some cheap offshore import. That means I didn't charge anybody extra, and I won't get a single dollar of these refunds. So the net effect is this: companies that offshored production, imported tariffed goods, and passed the cost on to you may now get a giant retroactive payday. Companies actually building things here get nothing. Tariffs were sold as a way to punish offshoring and protect American industry. In reality, they ended up taxing American consumers and, after today's ruling, potentially rewarding the very businesses that moved production overseas. Brilliant.

Lahaina West Maui Fire episode 1 This is my experience the morning of August 8th 2023. I have a lot of footage, so if people still have interest I plan to tell the story of this city's descent into lawlessness and chaos. We were without communication completely disconnected from the outside world. We had no power, we had no fuel, we were told the water was contaminated.
