ALT Have you been asked to share the data associated with a publication? Or perhaps your funding is contingent on making your data available? Have you been involved in the GRDC Data Partnerships Initiative and had to fill in that Excel form? Making your data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) has benefits to you as a researcher, your field, and science overall. But what does FAIR data actually mean? Isnāt it enough to include it in the supplementary material of a journal article? Do the FAIR principles still apply if you canāt make the data openly available? This seminar will clarify these questions and explain the benefits of making your data FAIR, and how you can incorporate FAIR principles into your data management practices, as well as demonstrating a more user-friendly form to capture metadata for the GRDC Data Partnerships Initiative.

ALT Fake receipt generated using https://www.makereceipt.com/. Lists 4 items as 'Paywalled article' with a cost between $25 and $39.95, then lists 2 items as 'Repository article' with a cost of $0. This shows repositories can make some research available openly and freely to all, even though publishers are charging for the same journal articles.
