ALT Today, Starbucks announced they’re closing about 250 US stores this week. A small number of these are union stores. We expect to engage in effects bargaining for every impacted union store, as we have done elsewhere, over the conditions of these closures, including transfers so workers can be placed in another Starbucks store based on their preferences. But let’s be clear - today’s announcement proves once again that ‘Back to Starbucks’ is nothing more than a betrayal of what workers and customers loved about the company.

ALT As Starbucks continues to close stores, violate labor law, hike up our healthcare premiums, and betray its core value of belonging to appease right-wing politicians, the company is moving farther away from everything it once was. Starbucks is becoming unrecognizable under CEO Brian Niccol — and that is why labor allies, elected officials, and customers are all joining together to boycott Starbucks until they finalize a fair union contract.
