Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a “serious incident” at Canada’s CFB Wainwright in Alberta tonight, with a subsequent fire reaching past the base’s perimeter, per reporting from CBS. Canada’s defense minister, during a press conference confirmed that fatalities and injuries have occurred, with his comment that he “cannot recall an event like this in recent memory” indicating the casualty toll is likely high.

A motion was adopted in Dutch Parliament to equip the intervention units (DSI and BSB) with helicopters to shorten response times. Currently AW149 helicopters from the Dutch police are primarily used.
The Royal Netherlands Navy awarded a contract to UMS Skeldar for an undisclosed quantity of V-200 Anti Submarine Warfare UAVs. The UAVs will be used on its ordered ASWF frigates. Five V-200 have previously been ordered for Mine Countermeasures for use on the City class vessels.
