Oblivion Esports needs to be held accountable for its unprofessional ownership and tournament management. In a $600 tournament, they allowed a team to compete throughout the bracket, beat Oblivion’s own team, and THEN disqualified them because a player was allegedly in cheating Discords. The player offered a monitor cam, controller cam, PC reset, and full PC check. They initially agreed, then reversed course and DQ’d the team, allowing their own organization to advance. Meanwhile, there are allegations of a cheater still being on their roster and players being dropped simply for wanting time with their children. I personally funded a team in their first tournament, and it was a disaster. It took TWO HOURS past the scheduled start to get things moving. Casts were promised, yet only the final two matches were actually casted. If you’re hosting cash tournaments and trying to establish yourself in this community, professionalism, consistency, and competitive integrity are the bare minimum. Until Oblivion Esports demonstrates meaningful changes, I cannot recommend anyone join, compete in, or financially support their organization or tournaments.
