I will never forget the time this white man told me that our employer was so focused on DEI that the only way you could get promoted was if you were a woman or a person of color. 83% of our company's people leaders were white and male. Less than 5% were women of color. 🥴

A man outside of 7 11 asked me to buy him cigarettes. He looked unhoused. I couldn't pull the trigger on buying smoke sticks, but I gave him a $20 on my way out. (How much are cigs? 😅) He said "Thank you so much queen!" Then he followed me and said "Can I get a hug?" 1/
