I'm looking for a job! I'm an experienced researcher in cryptography. My focus is on the transition to post-quantum cryptographic protocols and protocols related to blockains. If that sounds like someone you might want to hire or you know someone who might, let's talk!

My time at RUB is coming to an end and I'm looking to transition to an industry position. If you're hiring for work on cryptographic protocols, PQC or related areas, maybe we should talk! I'm at Eurocrypt this week, so this may be a great opportunity to meet in person.

Pro tip: if you're launching a German organisation whose aim is to intervene in Polish affairs, "Lebensraum" is probably not the best choice of name
A German group, Lebensraum Vorpommern, has filed a further legal challenge against Poland's plans to construct a deepwater shipping terminal near the border with Germany. It claims the project "will lead to an environmental catastrophe" notesfrompoland.com/2025/03/…

My 2cents about infosec following the recent political mess: Always assume that your government might flip on you like Trump flipped on Ukraine. Don't let government access assuming they are benevolent.

The real terror - you don’t have imposter syndrome; you’re just accurately assessing how appallingly bad at your job you are

This is false. This *is* German cloud storage. Why else would these traditionally come in "Wolkenmarmor" on the outside?
In Germany we don’t trust cloud storage. We print our important emails, put them in a Leitz-Ordner, and store them in the Keller because sicher ist sicher.

Compromise: if a conference insists on double column, they need to accept papers in landscape.
Two-column formats need to die!

It's almost as if storing important documents exclusively on someone else's computer might be a terrible idea. Who knew. 🤷‍♂️
😡 Absolutely disappointed with @overleaf. My account was deleted without my knowledge, and they’ve done nothing to help me recover it or transfer to my secondary email. Years of work, including all my CVs, SOPs, papers, etc., gone! This is unacceptable. #Overleaf

Visa forms be like "Give your address in 15 characters or fewer." "Describe your place of birth without using the letter e." "Give your date of birth using only digits 4-7."

How do I tell my mother that due to Indian visa regulations she's no longer allowed to have a hyphened surname?

People complaining that the government did in fact know about their one simple way to dodge taxes are pretty weird.

Nothing can quite adequately describe the horror a theorist feels learning that people are trying to use their work in the real world.

Ich bin ja kein Experte, aber wenn die Marine Waffen in Wilhelmshaven einsetzen muss ist schon irgendwas gründlich schief gelaufen.
