day 3 building @KairoExchange in public shipped Kairo as a MacOS & Windows app, A $500 trading comp, and polished the landing page. here's how it went THE DESKTOP APP first try was Electron, which ships a whole copy of Chrome inside the app. ~180MB per download. switched to Tauri, which uses the web engine your computer already has. Kairo for Mac is 5MB it loads the live site, so every update we ship reaches the app instantly. Kairo and the sign-in pages stay inside the window, every other link opens in your browser WHAT BROKE Windows was built from a Mac, and the installer tool kept crashing with an out-of-memory error. the actual cause: a missing language setting in the terminal. one line then I downloaded it myself and got hit with "unidentified developer" on Mac and "Windows protected your PC" on Windows. not shipping that. pulled both the same day the icon also looked like a square tile next to every other app in the Dock. redrew it to Apple's spec, rounded corners, padding, shadow. and the installer window is now pure black with the Kairo wordmark, drag to Applications MAKING IT A PROPER MAC APP got an Apple Developer ID, signed the app with it, then sent it to Apple to be scanned (notarization). the first one from a new account took about an hour Apple's stamp is attached to the download now, so it opens with no warnings at all. and there's a one-line install from Terminal: curl -fsSL kairo.exchange/install.sh | bash WINDOWS a downloadable .exe needs a code-signing certificate, and even then new apps can get the blue warning screen for a while so for now, "Install for Windows" installs Kairo straight from Edge or Chrome: its own window, Start menu and taskbar, no warnings, no download. the Microsoft Store version is next TAKES COMP $500 in $KAIRO for the best public take this week, $250 / $150 / $100 first version let anyone enter with a free take. changed it within the hour: to win, you put real money behind your take, ($10 min). live leaderboard, and it freezes at the close on live prices A NEW WEBSITE tokenomics, the download page, the manifesto, the litepaper and the docs used to open inside the app. now they're proper pages to match the UI of the landing page. also rewrote the docs, which still described stuff we'd retired bit of a slower day today were now just waiting on the native mobile apps before we can really scale any kind of serious campaigns as i feel its just hard to push users to use a pwa also regarding x spaces not sure why but ive attempted it 5 times today and they got instantly nuked or audio issues so gonna retire that idea for now (might host telegram vc's in the meantime) regardless thanks everyone for showing up and suppporting means alot <3 see you all tomorrow
