So where was the warning? And as a Nano X user, I'm appalled by this whole fiasco. This week I did $20M in Perp volume on @variational_io (with my new account). Traded mostly $XAU Swaps, and went DN Gold with @extendedapp. on this account, I earned 88.846 points worth $3,331 (according to @PointsOTC). I wish I could keep up this volume every week, I would essentially earn a yearly salary of $173,212, assuming $37.5/pt. On my second Vari account I did 0 volume, but I earned 11+ Ref points. Papertrade's oracle used Hyperliquid’s 'best bid/offer' (BBO) as price reference, while trades execute on its LP, rather than on HL's orderbook... They only bothered using 1 reference point for their oracle pricing. And we all know how that turned out💀 I just wish I had enough liquidity to 1. open multi-million dollar positions on Papertrade, and then 2. manipulate HL's orderbook 🤣🤣 In contrast to a '1 price reference model', all surviving DEXs protect themselves with guardrails against oracle manipulation 👇 • I can’t manipulate @GMXIO’s prices because it uses Chainlink data streams • I can’t manipulate @DriftFDN’s oracle- it uses Pyth • I can’t manipulate @GainsNetwork’s oracle because its price aggregator uses multiple nodes • I can’t manipulate @HyperliquidX’s oracle because it uses weighted external prices + its mark price also factors in orderbook data • I can influence @papertradexyz’s reference price by moving HL's 'best bid or ask', since it uses their midpoint as its oracle dummies may be thinking, 'if HL's BBO can be manipulated then isn't HL just as unstable as papertrade?' Wrong, BBO is just 1 of multiple inputs to HL's mark price, but Papertrade uses BBO as the sole reference price.

Unpopular opinion, @shaundadevens is right that a 57x revenue/FDV multiple means Vari is overvalued at $1.5B FDV. But revenue points upward. Last Biweekly Gross Revenue (Spread rev) = $7,372,480. Since 20% is distributed back to the treasury, we have $1,474,496 in biweekly buyback power for $VAR. Annualizing that buyback power puts @variational_io at a 39x multiple, a 31% improvement since Shaunda's article came out 2 weeks ago. (Used biweekly metrics rather than lifetime treasury P&L in my calc...) and If we assume the API doubles Gross Revenue, Vari's valuation drops to a 19.6x multiple. Also, it's likely a % of OLP's revenue gets rerouted to the Treasury for two reasons. 1. all-time OLP P&L is 2x the treasury's, and 2. OLP will be made public, so the team will no longer be incentivized to keep OLP > Treasury TLDR: Variational's valuation looks a lot more reasonable using recent spread revenue. I 1.5X Shorted $CL, and 1.5x Longed $USOIL, So now I'm earning $27.58% on my notional, + I earned 4.2 points last week for $109K OI and 0 volume. On my $32,600 capital, that's 27.58% of $54,250, which is $14,962 yearly or 46% APR + point APR (4.2*$37*52), or 70% total APR! And people say we're too late to farm Variational🤣
