I don't think I've ever done this before… I dabble in crypto, but don't ever make public mention of projects I'm putting money into. But this one is worth shouting out. (If you're not a crypto bro, tune out.) The project: XBlock // Houdini Swap Ticker token: $POOF Purpose: Privacy X: @HoudiniSwap I got into this project on launch day, back in January, and haven't sold any of my tokens (nor do I plan to any time soon). Here's why I've been bullish on it throughout the bear: Houdini Swap allows users to break the connection between wallets (i.e., if you want to move funds but don't want wallet-watchers tracking your funds, you can use HS). Unlike Tornado Cash, however, HS never takes custody of user funds, and therefore operates in full compliance with all regulations and laws. Obviously, privacy portals are useful/popular, so why Houdini Swap? Firstly, they were incubated by Dream Labs (you may have seen another Dream Labs project popping lately on Crypto Twitter in Amino — ticker $AMO), and have a professional team, with professional money behind them (including $250k they raised earlier this year for development). Secondly, they have an API that allows their swap to be integrated into other platforms — and they continue to add new partners through this. Thirdly — and most importantly — all revenue from swaps goes to buy-backs (which are locked until a future date when a DAO will be formed and will decide what to do with those tokens — staking, burning, etc.). Adding #2 and #3 together, you end up with a pretty powerful setup. Back in Feb/March, it was a big deal when the swap started cracking $2m in weekly volume. Then it became a big deal the first time it cracked $4m in weekly volume, before eventually settling in that range as commonplace. Then it became a big deal when it first cracked $5m in weekly volume — and over the last two weeks, it has been well over $6m in weekly volume (with over $30,000 in buy-backs every week). So far, the project has bought back over 500 ETH worth of tokens, which creates constant support for the chart. As the crypto market picks up, more money will be moved around. As more money is moved around, swap volume will increase. As swap volume increases, buybacks will increase. There is a 6/6 tax on the token (which is expected to go away in the future), and they have focused their efforts on building partnerships rather than trying to attract holders. As such, almost all of the chart action that you see in the screenshot is from buy-backs. But there are a number of bigger Crypto Twitter accounts that hang around the project (if you keep an eye on the Telegram, you'll see @Pentosh1 in there from time to time), and there will come a point when public buying pressure is added to the constant flow of always-increasing buy-backs. Again: this is not something I typically do (I don't know…you guys trust me to share research, strategy, thoughts, and advice on how to allocate your funds for DFS, but crypto can somehow feel more binary: "Here! Put your money here!" — which makes it feel…I don't know, more "bludgeony" to shout out a good project). But I also see this uptrend and know that at some point — in the next week, or the next month, or the next six months — this thing is likely to go on a run. So I finally figured: why not. If this bothers you, apologies. If you're grateful for this, you're welcome. I love using Houdini Swap — and I love the setup they've built for the token. Worth diving into if you've been looking for smaller projects to research.
