To be clear: it is unambiguously good for Americans to be protesting ICE.
Republicans keep characterizing it as bad. But protesting against tyranny and abuses of power is a great American tradition. It is similar to what is happening - and being celebrated - this week in Iran.

Lot of talk about early voting.
Pay attention to the betting markets to see how it matters.
In the last 24 hours, Talarico's odds have gone from 61.1% to 62%.
That means you shouldn't read too much into it yet.

Somewhat unremarked upon is that Trump has made two era-defining foreign policy decisions — launching war with Iran and de facto aligning the U.S. with its decades-old enemy/adversary Russia (formerly the Soviet Union) — with NO consultation of the American people. Absolutely none. He literally reserved more TV time for the “election foreign-interference” crock than on two strategies that could perpetually undermine U.S. national and economic security. That's an election issue if there ever was one.
Trump’s despicable actions regarding Ukraine in recent weeks are more than a bankrupt betrayal; they risk undermining the global alliance structure that keeps America first in the world. My latest for @dcexaminer -

Hume: The president has been out campaigning vigorously, but I'm not sure it's making any difference and what difference it would make I'm not sure is helping.
In Texas, he is calling James Talarico “Tala-freak-o.” He is not a freak. You see him. He seems mild mannered and pleasant and not an unattractive candidate.
This cuddling up to Vladimir Putin at this moment… I don’t think that plays well. The American public can’t stand Putin.
And this fiasco with the press secretary…

The Paxton campaign is going to be a hotbed of dirty tricks in the closing stretch. Their candidate is universally known to be a scumbag, so any negative reaction to unethical campaign tactics is already priced in.
Might as well try to steal the election any way you can.

Talarico on Elon Musk’s giant spending for Paxton:
“Ken Paxton is funded by one dude…. Elon wants our land, our water, he wants his own personal senator. We are going to send a message to the world’s first trillionaire - Texas is not for sale.”

UPDATE—New video shows ICE hit man on bike with their unmarked car on purpose.
Agents were speeding the wrong way down a one-way street in residential neighborhood.
Still no reason given for targeting Ricardo Gonzalez—a U.S. citizen—in the first place.
ICE run over U.S. citizen riding his bike—break his arm.
Agents handcuff him behind his back without calling paramedics.
They inflict even more injuries—send him to the hospital in serious condition.
Then agents detain another U.S. citizen—for yelling at them on the sidewalk.
Man with the broken arm's daughter says he was hit on his e-bike by an unmarked car.
He was then tased twice and pinned to the ground—currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Multiple ICE vehicles were running through stop signs—speeding the wrong way down one-way streets.
All on a weekend afternoon with kids playing outside.
Incident occurred near the intersection of East 56th Street & Elm Avenue in Long Beach, California.
Stop ICE Net doesn't have an account on this platform—so posting first full length, English translated, and credited video here to help raise awareness.
If Democrats have a very good night in November, expect a rush of Republican laws in December to strip powers away from whichever office Dems have won. The playbook most aggressively used by NC's GOP recently, extended to Iowa, for starters, Texas.
It's gettin' real now: Sources tell @quorumreport that the Texas Senate GOP is quietly considering stripping all legislative power from the Lt. Gov. if the Democrat beats Little Gov Patrick: bit.ly/4Bfnnvb #TxLege

What the hell is going on? This is horrifying and UN-AMERICAN.
No one should fear being violently attacked by their own government. This is not how professional law enforcement officers are trained to behave.
ICE must be held accountable. No badge puts you above the law.

A brief review of recent technical “errors” at Meta:
1. Restricting the Facebook pages of Brazilian president Lula who is in a runoff election against a Trump-favored candidate
2. Shutting down the pages of Albanians protesting Jared Kushner’s plans to build a luxury resort in the country
3. Rejecting ads for a documentary critical of Elon Musk
4. Shutting down the No Kings instagram page in the middle of a major anti-Trump protest

It's not hard to work out the playbook here: acquire a widely used model of voting machine, hack it, and then one of three possibilities:
– don't disclose the vulnerability until after the voting is done, creating pressure for votes cast using that model to be discarded as insecure;
– disclose it just before the vote and demand that the machines not be used, throwing the election into chaos;
– use the disclosure as justification for federal forces to physically seize the voting machines, with the same result.
Whichever scenario they had in mind, it's possible, maybe even likely, that this represents preparation for events never seen before in a Western democracy.
I'd be interested to know what @C_C_Krebs thinks about all this...

Here is a preview of election day in November.
On Friday, the Justice Department threatened to prosecute California election officials who knowingly count mail-in ballots from people the Trump administration identified as “likely noncitizens.”

Last month, Trump’s DHS asked its cyber division to try and a hack voting machines.
BUT:
-They directed them to NOT alert voting machine companies if flaws were discovered. Violating policy.
-Order to only report directly to White House.
That’s NOT typical at all!!
ProPublica: Trump Appointees Wanted a Voting Machine Hacked
A few months into President Donald Trump’s second term, political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security made an unusual request of its agency focused on cybersecurity: Secretly acquire a voting machine and hack it.
The appointees wanted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to procure the machine, examine it and report back the findings so they could be given to the White House, according to two former administration officials with knowledge of the request.

He was at home with the flu, journalists from The New York Times confirmed, citing images from Talarico’s home security cameras.

The entire reason MAGA thinks there is election fraud - despite no evidence - is because it's what they would do given the chance.
