Five years ago we started @belo_app with a simple idea: dollar-native finance for Latin Americans, without the complexity. Since then we've built: → 3.6M registered users → US$7.1B in total platform flow → ~US$1B in annual TPV → Accounts, payments, cards, crypto and yield → Local stablecoins through Twin → Licenses and operations across the region Most of that work is invisible. Nobody posts about getting a license in a new country, running local liquidity desks, or building the compliance stack that turns a stablecoin into pesos, reais or soles in seconds. That invisible part is what matters most right now. AI and crypto are converging faster than almost anyone expected, and the reason is simple: agents need money, and the banking system wasn't built for them. Traditional card payments are built on human identity verification, and AI agents cannot open bank accounts or obtain cards. Stablecoins can. They're programmable, always on, and settle in seconds. The biggest players have already made their bet. Stripe integrated the x402 standard so AI agents can transact in USDC on Base, and its president predicts a "torrent" of agentic commerce. Amazon added x402 to Bedrock AgentCore Payments in May, letting agents on AWS pay for services in USDC. By April, x402 had processed roughly 165 million agent transactions across 69,000 active agents. But there's a gap nobody in Silicon Valley has solved. All of these rails end at a wallet. They move dollars between machines. They don't pay a supplier in São Paulo, a salary in Buenos Aires or a utility bill in Lima. That last mile, from a stablecoin to a real person's real account in a real country, is where agentic finance actually meets the economy. And moving money is only the beginning. What people in Latin America need from their financial life is local, and it's very different from what a user in San Francisco needs: - Yield, because holding cash here means losing value every month. Dollar-denominated returns aren't a nice-to-have; they're how families protect their savings. - Credit, because it has always been scarce and expensive. Millions of people and small businesses have income, transaction history and real repayment capacity, but no bureau score a bank will accept. - Payments in installments, local QR, PIX, CVU and transfers to every bank in the country, because that's how people actually pay for things. - FX that works both ways, at the right moment, because people earn in one currency, save in another and spend in both. - Local stablecoins, because not every obligation is in dollars. Rent, taxes and salaries still settle in pesos, reais and soles. None of these products can be designed from abroad. Each one depends on local regulation, local data, local liquidity and local partners. An agent can decide that a user should move savings into yield, refinance a debt or pay a supplier in reais. But it can only act on that decision if someone has already built the regulated product underneath, in that country. That's what we've spent five years doing. Every AI company is about to discover that agents need to move real money in real countries under real regulation. You can't vibe-code a license. Looking back, the consumer app was never the end product. It was our first distribution layer and the proving ground for the infrastructure underneath. Now that infrastructure is ready for a new kind of customer: #Agents.
