PaperTrade, 1000x Leverage, How Does It Work?
Let’s talk about one of the most interesting protocols of the past few days. @papertrade_xyz is a PerpDEX that introduces a unique model to the DeFi space: it doesn’t need large liquidity providers to get started, as it uses traders’ losses to fuel the protocol’s liquidity.
The interesting part? You get rewarded even when you lose. Traders who incur losses receive solana:4SNHBM2axbPCNXHrPPNLtdCRmnQVkq9cfFTyrJpJpump tokens, which can be staked to earn a share of the protocol’s revenue and excess liquidity.
But how are winning traders paid? Papertrade uses a payment queue: if the protocol doesn’t have enough liquidity to cover all profits, traders have to wait until new losses replenish the system. All of this comes with leverage of up to 1000x, making trading extremely risky.
The pre-deposit phase has already started, giving users early access ahead of the launch scheduled for October 10. A date that was definitely no coincidence.

On X, it looks like everyone is making money, but then you check the on-chain data and realize that nothing has changed since the last post about PumpFun.
In fact, Dune analyzed the @solana wallets that traded on @fomo over the last 90 days.
292,531 wallets analyzed.
93.84% were NOT profitable.
Only 6.16% were in profit.
But when you dig deeper, it gets even more interesting:
Of the 6.16% that were profitable, 88% made less than $100.
Only 25 wallets out of 292,531 made more than $10,000.
Before thinking, “If they did it, I can do it too,” think again.
Crypto Cards, What Happened?
Over the past few hours, several @solana crypto card users have seen their USDC/USDT funds disappear. Among the services affected are @avici and @useTria , both of which have already announced that affected users will be reimbursed.
But where did the issue come from? The exploit did not directly affect users’ wallets, but rather the underlying card infrastructure. Several providers rely on @raincards , which identified a vulnerability in an older version of its smart contracts on Solana. 1,685 users were affected, with approximately $600,000 stolen.
This incident highlights an important distinction: you can have a perfectly secure self-custodial wallet, but once you move funds into the layer required to spend them through a card, your risk model changes as well.
The cards we previously covered, @RedotPay and @KASTxyz , were not affected by the incident.
