Why fintech cannot just use a public blockchain? Here is a question worth asking. If blockchains are so good at moving money, why do banks and payment companies still not run on them? The answer is not speed and it is not fees. It is that everything is public. What "public" actually means On a normal blockchain every balance and every transfer is written where anyone can read it. Not just your bank, not just a regulator. Anyone, forever, with a free block explorer and thirty seconds. Now imagine running a payroll on that. Every employee can see what every other employee earns. Your competitors can see your runway, your suppliers, your margins. Your landlord can see your balance before you negotiate. No finance company can operate like that. So they stay on the old rails, and the stablecoin stack stays a demo. A developer marks the values that should stay hidden and the chain keeps them hidden from everyone outside the contract. The rest of the work stays ordinary Solidity, with the same tooling a developer already uses. And private is not the same as hidden from rules. On most blockchains, your balance is public. On @SeismicSys it does not have to be. Here is something that surprises people who are new to crypto. When someone sends you money on a public blockchain, that transfer does not just go through. It gets written down where everyone can read it. Your balance, the amount, who sent it, all of it sits there forever, open to anyone with a block explorer. Imagine your bank publishing your salary and your rent payments on a website.
