Trump has spent years picking hostile fights with Canada over unfair tariffs. And yet, Quebec is still showing up to help California fight actual fires, for the 33rd year in a row. Honestly, it makes me emotional that our neighbors are willing to help us even after the way our government has treated them. That’s the kind of kindness I won’t forget.

Shane Gillis apologized for accidentally saying “f*ck” on SNL but apparently has nothing to say about calling women wh*res for wearing gym shorts. Priorities, gentlemen. Protect the FCC, not women. Got it.

Somebody get Republicans a geography lesson. Last week, they tried to convince us Jack Smith was in Georgia instead of Iowa. This week, it’s James Talarico in Ohio instead of Texas. Two wrong states, zero fact-checks, and the confidence of a kid who just discovered crayons. They’re counting on their base not to Google a damn thing. At this point, their propaganda needs a GPS.

I’m voting YES on California Prop 3. Prop 3 is about keeping the existing higher income tax rates on high-income Californians from expiring in 2031. We’re talking about income over roughly: • $371,000 for single filers • $742,000 for married couples filing jointly • $505,000 for heads of household These amounts are adjusted for inflation. 89% of the revenue goes to K-12 schools and 11% goes to community colleges. For me, YES on Prop 3.

California voters: Props 40, 41 and 42 are connected. YES on 40: Creates a one-time 5% tax on billionaire wealth, with most of the money going to health care. NO on 41: Changes the rules for new state special taxes and could stop 40 from taking effect if 41 gets more YES votes than 40. NO on 42: Would ban new state taxes on financial assets and other personal property, which could conflict with 40. If 42 gets more YES votes than 40, 40 could be stopped. So the votes matter: YES on 40, NO on 41 and NO on 42.

Never in 1 million years did I think I would hear my “President” say that it would be OK for Iran to “take out Los Angeles,” the city where I live, the city that I love! What makes it worse, his crowd cheered! What a shame!

Steve Hilton doesn’t care about women! He wanted to get rid of maternity leave while advising UK PM David Cameron. Conservative ministers publicly distanced themselves from the idea!! Now he’s running for California governor, where workers can receive up to 8 weeks of Paid Family Leave. Californians deserve to know his record. 🗣️Independent

Essay for an S.A., are we really surprised about this? Or, is this just the affluent American way, where money and power can make major crimes “disappear.” #cornelluniversity7

You can thank Donald Trump for being behind on your rent!According to a new Urban Institute report, 1 in 5 working-age renters struggled to pay their full rent on time in 2025, up from 16.5% the year before.

An air-force major was held in solitary confinement for speaking out against the Trump administration/war. A black man was found hanging, the 8th black person this year. An immigrant was shot in the back while working, held in detention with the bullet in his back, no pain meds, no bed. An immigrant mother was deported because of social media posts about her son who was beat by ICE while driving to enlist in the military. And, we now have state run television. This is ONE day in America.

Who exactly is our government working for? Gallup is reporting that 90 percent of Americans believe there is corruption in our federal government! We can see clearly that corporate money and wealthy donors are influencing the decisions made in Washington D.C. and those decisions DIRECTLY affect millions of American families who are struggling just to afford the basics like housing, groceries, healthcare, and keeping a roof over their heads.

Wow. So now having compassion for people suffering through a genocide is something you can be canceled for, both literally and figuratively?? That alone says a lot about where we are as a country. We have truly lost our way. What a shame!

While critics have been busy questioning Mamdani’s patriotism and telling him he dare not show up to the 9/11 remembrance ceremony, he has been busy…. • Opening NYC’s 9/11 records • Budgeting $34M for a public records portal • Helping with 9/11 health and compensation programs • Visiting FDNY/NYPD sites • Settling 2 records lawsuits • Creating “Memory Markers”

Question for the fear mongering Republicans: You do know that Dr. Oz is Muslim and he was raised in a Muslim family, right? The same Dr. Oz that your President Trump appointed to lead Medicare and Medicaid Services, yes, he is Muslim. Your false propaganda and double standards are embarrassing. Right on brand, actually!
