The random pigeon distribution system strikes again. Brought two youngsters to the loft on the way to help treat two other critical pigeons but apparently that’s not enough pigeons so I found a little squeaky squab under the bridge as well. 🫠

Love it when people make babies race. Transponder band at least implies that this barely adolescent homing pigeon was already being raced. We found it emaciated and exhausted on the ground of course, as is the fate for most of them unfortunately.

Went grocery shopping again, of course I did not get very far before I spotted a sus pigeon. Bro seems to have forgotten how to fly so he’s coming with me for the time being.

It finally happened, I am now officially the neighbourhood bird lady. Some random person just rang my door yesterday evening after asking around because she found this finch on the ground who was full of mites and unable to fly just yet.

Well, little guy is free of mites now and has been fed, he’s still chirping away rather noisily though. Luckily Friday is the next day someone is driving birds to the release station so he can surely hitch a ride there too

The last one isn’t looking too good though, being accidentally kicked out of the nest by parents duking it out with a crow and falling four floors down will do that to ya though I guess. Fingers crossed it‘s just stressed and not bleeding internally.
