Finally got around to reading @skrug's book Rocket Surgery Made Easy. Even though I knew most of it due to my experience in the field, there was still some great new insights. Super quick, informative read I definitely recommend for those new to #UX and #UsabilityTesting!
As the year closes, I wrote up some of the most important #UX and #design lessons I've learned in 2020 and some of what I'm excited for in 2021, and @uxdesigncc was nice enough to publish it. Would love to know what you've learned and are looking forward to!

UX Metaphors: mapping experiences theatrically buff.ly/32ZfryW — by @CrossroadsUX
Being stuck at home, I finally have time to blog between job searching. Here's a post about how to use ideas from the world of theater as metaphors for understanding users' experiences during #UX research. Would love to hear people's thoughts!

Airlines still significantly lag behind on #UX and #CX and under appreciate their affect on customer loyalty. Getting you somewhere with your stuff should be the basic expectation, so @AmericanAir loosing half of my friend's luggage makes you wonder if they're the right choice.
Replying to @AmericanAir
@AmericanAir You lost my luggage on 19th of May. Since then I have called your service centers almost every single day with absolutely no help at all. I have not received one single update. In fact some of your agents are outright rude. I am appalled at the service you provide!
Some great talks @ #igniteuxmi this year, especially @yuyinshen719, Ignacio Martinez, @jbtank, and Tim Ho (even with technical difficulties)! Feeling a little inspired, maybe I'll give a talk myself next year...

Designing w/o understanding user's needs is walking in the dark.
Doing it rapidly w/ protoyping&testing is running in the dark w/ scissors.

A mature designer will look at the worst interface in the world and rather than criticize ask, "I wonder why they did that?"
#CX teams need to realize voice and tone is important - comedy isn't always good. And sometimes canned responses are worse than no response.
