You people don't remember all these disconnect when it is time to go on date. You want fine dining and call it "putting in effort" and "bare minimum" while brokeshaming men who can't afford it. Minimum wage is N77k but fine dinning for two is above N100k. I hope everyone is kinder and reasonable going forward.
Mocking someone for having a room self-con in a country where the minimum wage is 77k and rent in places like Shomolu and Yaba can exceed 1m a year. The disconnect is insane.

A lot of young men walk around with this idea in their head that if they don’t spend big on their girlfriend, she’s going to leave. Not just the normal things like dates or small gifts, but the heavy stuff like phones, designer bags, constant outings, trips, “surprises” that cost real money. They treat it like a rule. Spend or lose her. What makes it worse is that many of them don’t actually understand how a lot of young women look at these things. To the guy, every big spend feels like proof that he cares and that he’s trying. To some of the girls, it just becomes normal. After a while it stops feeling special and starts feeling like what she’s supposed to get. The more he gives, the more it can start to look like the price of staying with him rather than something he chose to do because he wanted to. You see it all the time. A guy works hard, skips things for himself, and keeps the money flowing because he’s scared she’ll get bored or find someone else. He thinks the spending is what’s holding the relationship together. Then he finds out she’s still talking to other guys, or she already cheated, and the money didn’t stop any of it. The spending didn’t buy loyalty. It just made the relationship more expensive for him while she still did what she wanted on the side. Part of the problem is that these guys often listen to what some girls say instead of watching what actually happens. A girl might say she likes a guy who’s generous, and he takes that to mean he has to keep proving it with bigger and bigger gifts. He doesn’t notice that the same girl might still get close to another guy who has less money but gives her attention in a different way, or who just happens to be around at the right time. The gifts didn’t make her exclusive. They just made her comfortable. Social media doesn’t help. Guys see other men posting pictures of expensive things they bought their girlfriends and assume that’s the standard. They don’t see the arguments, the cheating, or the breakups that happen behind those posts. So they copy the spending without understanding that the relationship can still fall apart for other reasons. A lot of these young men are also bad at setting any kind of limit. Once they start spending heavy, it becomes hard to stop without feeling like they’re failing as a boyfriend. They don’t want to look “cheap.” They don’t want to hear “you don’t care about me.” So they keep going, even when it’s hurting them, because they think any cutback means she’s gone. The painful part is that some of them only realize the truth after they’ve already lost a lot of money and still got cheated on. The girl didn’t stay because of the gifts. She stayed as long as it was convenient for her, and the gifts were just part of that convenience. When something else looked better, or when she got caught, the money didn’t matter. It’s not that every girl is like this, and it’s not that spending on someone you like is wrong. But a lot of young guys have mixed up “being a good boyfriend” with “constantly buying her things so she won’t leave.” They don’t see that real interest usually shows up in other ways too; time, honesty, how she treats him when he’s not spending. When those things are missing and the only thing left is the money, the relationship was already shaky, no matter how much he spent. Too many of them learn this late. They keep paying because they’re afraid of losing her, and then they still lose her or find out she was already with someone else. The spending didn’t protect the relationship. It just made the loss more expensive. AJD.

Nigerians, what the hell is South-South? For international relations, I can try to understand it as relations/intervention/agreement between countries in the global south(developing countries) But South-South as intercardinal direction, is ridiculous.

I spent over £34k sending my younger brother to the UK. I paid his school fees, and he lived in my house for free, with food and accommodation fully covered. He finished his Master’s program, moved out, started working, made enough money, and opened a barbing salon with 8 chairs in the heart of London. He has never bought even a loaf of bread for my sons. He built a house in Nigeria without telling me. He flew his girlfriend to Spain for her birthday. One time, I lied that I was broke and asked him to send me £500. He told me he had used all his money but had ₦1 million he wasn’t using. I sent him my naira account details. It has been 3 months, and he has never replied to that message. Family is not blood. Now that I have decided to be wicked, nobody should blame me. I have seen all sides of human wickedness. I have repeatedly told him and other family members that if God had put them in my position, I would still be in the village suffering. The highest they would do is send me $100 and ask me to be grateful. I have lived the first half of my life for others, and now I have decided to be wicked, selfish, and stingy for myself and my sons. Humans are terrible. Just buy a dog. If you've not experienced something like this, you won't understand Gaius Chibueze

If you’re a beginner trying to break into Data Analytics, here’s a simple roadmap I’d recommend: 1. Learn Excel Start with formulas, PivotTables, charts, lookups, data cleaning and basic analysis. 2. Learn SQL Understand SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, JOINs, CASE, subqueries and aggregations. 3. Learn Power BI Learn data cleaning, data modelling, DAX and how to build useful dashboards. 4. Learn basic statistics Understand averages, percentages, distributions, correlation and how to interpret data. 5. Build projects Don’t just watch tutorials. Work with real datasets and solve actual business problems. 6. Learn to communicate insights Don’t just say “sales increased by 20%.” Explain WHY, what changed, and what the business should consider doing next. 7. Build a portfolio Document your projects on LinkedIn/GitHub and show your process, not just the final dashboard. 8. Start applying You don't need to know everything before applying. And honestly, you don't need Python at the very beginning. Get comfortable with Excel → SQL → Power BI → projects → business thinking, then add Python when you’re ready to expand your skills. Learn → practice → build → share → apply.

Your father carried all the bills alone and raised you and your siblings alone while your mom kept her money. But the hustle is for mama and may our mothers stay alive to see our success. Okay.

In 9ja, You'll apply for school ID card in 100 level and You'll have to keep disturbing them so you can get it on time in 300 level. You'll leave Nigeria and your ID card would be printed in front of you in less than 2 mins, the day ypu arrive. ID card that gives you access to the library and used to mark attendance. You even use it to get discount on the bus and some malls and restaurants. 9ja school ID cards have zero benefit, yet takes forever to print. Shameful!

Had an amazing time at the TS Academy event today. It was a fun and insightful experience, and the best part was finally meeting my study buddy in person. Great moments, great connections, and an unforgettable experience. #dataanalytics #learningWithTS #techsphereAcad

Your parents sent you to school as a young girl so that you can be useful to yourself and the society. Not for you to dump your certificates, then start looking for a man to feed you in the name of "I am in a relationship". And even when you get married, you still need to prove to your husband that you didn't go to school in vain. It should reflect in your conduct and the conduct of the children that you have with him. End.

I then built an interactive dashboard with KPIs, slicers, charts, and visualizations to make it easier to understand sales performance and identify trends, including the best and worst performing periods.

This project has also helped me improve my understanding of Power BI, Power Query, data visualization, and business analysis. I’m still learning and improving, but every project is helping me become a better data analyst. 🚀
