My mom has a friend in Ukraine she speaks to regularly. A teacher. Sirens have become part of their lives. She tries to keep the kids calm & take care of them. They hide in shelters regularly. In a middle of a phone call, the window in her apartment shattered. It was an average day.
Ukraine didn't attack Russia. It wasn't offered NATO membership (which is defensive anyway). And Putin had directly said the reason he invaded was because he wanted to reunify it.
And now, years and countless lives into this, to see so many people say such vile things and continue to spread falsehoods while the people in power betray Ukrainians is...more than a disappointment, it's a betrayal of humanity.
Hey @LauraLoomer, show @realDonaldTrump this video. Make sure he watches it.
He keeps talking about soldiers dying. What about the children? The families? The people pulled from the rubble, the parents burying their kids, the survivors whose lives will never be the same?
Tell him what you saw, Laura. Tell him what you witnessed in Ukraine. Tell him what those sirens mean to a child who doesn’t know whether their home will be next.
