A local account in Alberta, @CrashMetaX, is describing an increasingly disturbing scene following Saturday’s deadly incident at the Canadian military base.
“We were told it was ‘just a fire,’” he wrote.
But he says what he witnessed afterward told a very different story. UGH. These poor people. I feel sick.
People arriving in alarming condition. Emergency vehicles responding. And then an announcement over the hospital intercom.
CODE ORANGE.
For Americans unfamiliar with Canadian hospital emergency codes, Code Orange generally means an external disaster or mass-casualty emergency requiring hospital disaster-response procedures.
CBC News has separately reported that Wainwright’s health-care facilities are overwhelmed.
Canadian authorities have confirmed deaths and injuries, but an official casualty count has not been released.
How many people were caught in this disaster? And what caused the initial incident?
The families deserve answers.
