#Loafers is scrappy and endearing. Honors the messiness of your early twenties that we so rarely get in movies in a very honest way. The entire cast feels like a discovery, new faces with genuine magic in their performances. If this is already Zach Schnitzer on his first outing, I’m excited to see how he grows on future endeavors as an indie artist. #CCFF

Black Zombie is a fantastic look at the destruction of a nation due to the incorrect portrayal of a religion. Strong & powerful, this is a must watch for fans of horror & history! Make sure to stay after the credits! @CriticsFf @chicagocritics #CCFF

I’ve been on the Danielle Brooks train for quite some time but I think her work in #IfIGoWillTheyMissMe may just be her best performance yet. Nothing short of staggering.

I haven't been able to be physically present at @CriticsFf this year BUT I had a chance to write about two very beautiful films from the fest—TIME AND WATER and IF I GO WILL THEY MISS ME—and how their lyricism deals in both myth and memory.

I’ve been trying to find the words for #WhenAWitnessRecants, a really thorough and blatant look at the miscarriage of justice that befell these men. The final third of the film goes somewhere next level in terms of accountability, pain, and trauma and left me so gobsmacked. #CCFF

I got to write about one of my favorite films of the year for #CCFF. #IfIGoWillTheyMissMe is a poetic debut that knocked the wind out of me with incendiary performances at its center.
