GPT-5.6 has become my systems-thinking partner. I’ve used it to shape a Thai-first AI agent SaaS, design co-op simulation gameplay, and turn locked visual references into AI video workflows. The value is not just output—it’s the reasoning between idea and execution. #GPT5
I wish I can do something like this with codex. Big skill issue gap, even with the AI agentic era 🤣
I got to try Grok 4.5 in early access in Cursor for the past few days and I absolutely enjoyed it.
It feels like Opus 4.8 at 2x the speed at a much cheaper price point.
I tasked it to brainstorm > plan > implement a big feature for my game (this act 1 boss fight) and it did not disappoint.
- It is much smarter than Composer 2.5, during planning mode, it is able to think through my request more robustly, ensuring that edge cases are covered and makes sure to ask the right questions to confirm with me first.
- It is much better at brainstorming ideas/suggestions, similar to Opus 4.8, though I think Fable still edges out a little when it comes to brainstorming ideas and suggestions
- It is FAST. probably the fastest of all frontier models (Opus 4.8, GPT 5.5 etc), which makes it a joy to build with, because I can stay in the flow
- It has much improved visual/animation capabilities than Composer 2.5, it can code up animations (i wanted an explosion animation with particle effects) with much, much better visuals, animation movement and timing. This is a big leap and I was so happy to see this improvement.
- The best part for me is that I can just use the same model from planning down to execution without switching to a lower cost model because the price point is cheaper than other frontier models.
I'll be testing this model with more challenging tasks in the next few days but I think this is going to be my main driver for vibe coding for a while.
Also, its nice to see Grok back in the race. 🙌

Congrats everyone! And also everyone who participated, thank you!
And thanks to all the judges for helping get through all the games @NicolaManzini @OverJumpRally @ericzakariasson @timsoret
And lots of thanks to @s13k_ for helping out so much with the logistics of the Vibe Jam again, like creating the website and the entire judging system and so much more! Amazing work!
And thanks to all our amazing sponsors who made it possible
The vibe coded games this year are much much better than last year, all the judges agree on that, and personally I feel they're getting close to production-ready games that could compete with real game studios:
@timsoret, a game dev himself, said: "The quality is much higher level than last year, wow. Some of them are getting close to be genuine games. I think next year (or maybe 6 months at the given rate), it will match many game devs. Not the top 20%, but a 3rd year student yes!"
THANK YOU AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR 👋❤️
P.S. you can play ALL the games on vibej.am

🏆 Round 1 of judging the Vibe Jam of 2026 sponsored @cursor_ai + @boltdotnew + @heyglif + @tripoai is finished now
We've gone through almost 1000 submissions now, and there's some really great games in there and a huge leap vs last year's #vibejam
We're now onto Round 2 where me and @s13k_ start rating games a score of 1 to 10, I think we can finish that this week
Then in Round 3 the other judges enter to rate the final 50-100 games and we will know the winners!
I'm a bit slow but that's what happens with so many submissions, and I want to give games a proper chance, not just skip through!
P.S. @s13k_ built a great judging system for us to use, most games work fine in an iframe and if not we open it in a new tab to rate, which you can see here

It's honestly surprising how far web development has come.

AI Animated Film experiment (full feature is 90 mins)
With a $500 budget and 1.5 months of work, this story is based on my original idea from 2010... and today, the technology is finally ready to bring it to life.
AI showed me that solo creators can now manage an entire animation workflow. No need to pitch to big studios—you can fund yourself and bring your own stories to life. Without AI, this would still be stuck in my head.
(Of course, the quality is still far from high-budget films from big studios that have 300-600 people behind them, but I think the gap will close step by step in the future.)
This animated created by Seedance 2.0 on @dreamina_ai and @kinovi_ai and opening scene by @midjourney - thank you for watching.
