𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱👏📝🔥 Congrats to former @CrimsonCliffs and @UtahTech_BASE star SS with the biggest smile, Petey Soto on signing as the 18th pick of the Houston Astros! Since he first became my Son’s teammate at 10 years old and with 3 different teams growing up for the next 8 years in summer ball, Petey was destined for this! One day I remember telling a parent, see the two littlest guys right there on the team at SS/2B, “well one’s gonna play D1 and the other has a chance to play pro ball!” That parent probably thought I was high or just being a Dad, well both came true! Petey’s Dad the late Pedro Soto passed away 3 weeks (CoVid) after playing for me at @LakePointSports in 2021 with the inaugural and most stacked Team Utah club to date at the Future Games. Pedro came into the dugout after the last game and with tears in his eyes said “Thank You Jeffe” and we had a tight embrace. That’s the last time we spoke and I’m glad it ended that way! 😢 Petey knows my story with he and his Pops and I’ll keep it between us. Every weekend, Pedro would ask to see my World Series ring and take it and show it around as his own. I miss that man! One of his favorite things to say to me with my late wife Heidi and now wife Cami as they sat in the car and we both were driving away from the park and window to window…he knew it would get a laugh, even from my wife was “hey Jeff see you next week, you bring the booze and I’ll bring the women” 😂😂 as little Petey was leaning over from the passenger seat with his infectious smile! His Pops I know is incredibly happy and has been looking over him to make this dream come true. Petey could have gone other places for college, but chose to stay home and as the oldest son and as they need to do, looked after his mother Lupe’ Congrats “Frankie!” the journey is just beginning and I need 3 tickets when the debut happens. 🤙 Go get’em! – at Hurricane, UT
