This article from @CF_Conf on the recent report from @EnvStanScot is a damming indictment of the performance of @ScotGovMarine on their failures to introduce fit for purpose spatial management cmscoms.com/scottish-ministe… It's time for an inshore limit!

.@JohnSwinney @JimFairlieLogie continue to support Maggie Thatcher's Tory abolition of the 3-mile limit in 1985. This measure opened up our inshore waters to destroy nursery habitat, ultimately costing an 88% reduction in inshore fishing boats. #Inshorelimit = Economic Recovery

Jersey implementing an Inshore Fishing and MPA policy that keeps their MPAs open to lower impact fishing gears. We encourage a similar approach in Scotland's inshore, with funding available to support those being displaced and appropriate management for static gears that remain.
A fantastic article in this week’s #FishingNews from @scff_scot national coordinator @ballyphilp on the Rural Affairs and Islands Committee’s recent Clyde cod decision, and the wider questions this raises about current inshore fisheries management 🐟🏴🌊
A brilliant write-up in this week’s #FishingNews about the recent #ISSF national symposium.
Huge congratulations to the organising team for hosting such a great event, we're very proud to be part of the #ISSF consortium!
@scff_scot had a brilliant time at the inshore and small-scale fisheries (ISSF) national symposium last week in Newcastle!
It was fantastic to see over 120 participants discussing, debating and challenging current and future inshore policy and management measures.
We’re excited to be contributing to this symposium over the next two days!

Inshore MPA measures been delayed for over a decade while Scotland’s inshore ecosystems decline. Yet today @ScotGovMarine announced they're delayed again. It now feels like Govt strategy is to wait until there’s nothing left to protect.
