The number of girls reportedly abused at Obuasi SHS has risen to 19.
74 days have elapsed and the school remains closed, leaving students to pay for a crisis they did not create.
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu must urgently facilitate the school’s safe reopening and implement the necessary safeguards to protect the students.
The state cannot fail to protect children entrusted to its care and then subject them to a second injustice by prolonging the disruption of their academic activities.

Still taking it all in
Out of over 500 applicants, 30 were selected for the UK MEET Fellowship. After intensive sessions, newsroom simulations, tough questions and pitching our story ideas, I’m proud and grateful to be among the final 10 selected for the London Knowledge Exchange!
What a journey it has been
The past few days have stretched me, challenged the way I think about stories and reminded me that there is always more to learn. I’ve been pushed to question claims, interrogate evidence and think more deeply about how we tell stories about science, technology and innovation.
My pitch explores whether AI can genuinely improve teaching and learning in Ghana, and whether every student stands to benefit.
As a journalist, I want to keep growing beyond simply reporting what is happening to asking why it matters, what the evidence says and how it affects people’s lives.
I’m grateful for this opportunity, the people I’ve learnt from and everyone who continues to believe in my journey.
Thank you @imperialcollege Imperial Global Ghana and the British High Commission.
From the newsroom to new learning opportunities in London… God has been kind!
And yes, we are going to tell some more stories! Thank you @YalleyC for being there for me
Congratulations to my brother @i_am_Nana_B ❤️❤️ Our manifestation during the moment of our pitch tho

A week ago, I was Called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, a development which was the climax of my five (5) year journey and the beginning of a life-long experience of learning and service to the people in utmost good faith.
I want to take the opportunity to express my profound gratitude to my main man Ken Ohene Agyapong (@realKenAgyapong) for making time to support his boy on such an auspicious occasion. I am well aware of the business and other plans he had to cancel just to be there for me. Ken epitomizes loyalty.
At about 7:55 am, he was already seated for the 63rd Call to the Bar scheduled to begin at 8:40 am in the forenoon.
