Professional acting job this week! I'm excited to be working on a #shortfilm (mystery thriller) in Worcestershire. I've also had a theatre audition in Worcestershire recently & previously acted in a film in Worcestershire... So creative stuff happens outside of London! #actress
It was a joy to perform in this promenade #theatre show at Webbs West Hagley!😄 I played Willow the Witch in Hagley's Haunted House. I had brilliant feedback & the venue staff were all so lovely! There were several spaces to walk through & this is the witch's kitchen.

I look forward to playing Willow the Witch at Hagley's Haunted House 👻 which is a promenade #theatre performance for families at Webbs West Hagley. The production design is fantastic & some interesting local history is incorporated.😊 I'm performing on 2 dates in the run.

I’m so grateful that I’ve had a few self-tapes recently for great productions including a short film, a corporate VR film & a major TV series through my agent (a period drama!).😊🎬 I didn’t get the jobs, but I was on some shortlists & had ‘nice rejections’... 1/3
For many auditions, you don’t hear back, so I appreciate it when casting people/producers just say that it’s a ‘no’ & it’s brilliant to get positive feedback in addition... 2/3
I had a great time on a professional acting job today.
A quirky, sci-fi adventure #featurefilm by an independent filmmaker in Shropshire. I played a bride with a Cornish accent which was fun.👰😄

Less stone stacking sessions than I expected on holiday in Cornwall...😅 My agent sent a self-tape request for a major BBC TV comedy. I've wanted a TV audition for so many years!
I'm grateful but kind of sad that this opportunity came when I was away & without my usual equipment.
Great panel & screening of @networkfhm short films yesterday in @flatpack festival, Birmingham.
Lovely to meet some filmmakers & see the talent execs who’ve led some really helpful Zoom workshops.
Lots of interesting discussion & enthusiasm for Midlands film production.🎬
Thank you @cassiahjj for a brilliant short film workshop & mentoring session! I've learnt so much about how I transfer from producing theatre to film. Thanks for answering my tricky questions too!😅 Good luck with your amazing work.🎬🌟
Call out for short film director - MUST be Midlands based in England. See details below. Read ALL the info.

It's vital to support regional production in the Midlands, especially following the announcement that BBC Doctors is closing

We need the benefits here that the BBC gives to other parts of the UK e.g. jobs & boost to our local economy.
We just want a fair share in our region!
@crbmidlands
I'm proud to be a Midlands actress, writer & producer. There are so many creatives & crew here, with regional stories to be told. This should be sorted by now.🙄 Come on, BBC!!
BBC Charter, Purpose 4: To reflect, represent and serve the diverse communities of all of the UK’s nations and regions and support the creative economy.

Thank you @YvonneLawlor1 for a fantastic casting workshop with @IN_REELS__ in Birmingham last weekend! I enjoyed it so much. The directions were really detailed & encouraging to allow all the actors space to develop. What a lovely, friendly atmosphere with brilliant performances!

Agree.⬇ Drama makes a difference...
I was gripped, sad and angry watching Mr Bates vs The Post Office last week. What the postmasters/mistresses had to go through was horrendous. Finally, people are listening to them and they can try to rebuild their lives now.🧵1/2
Just mainlined #MrBatesVsThePostOffice What an incredible piece of telly. UK TV at it’s very best. Goes to show why we need to support the arts - drama can make a difference.
🧵2/2 Anyone who thinks that working in drama is not a 'proper job' should consider the impact this has had. Audience empathise with the emotions portrayed by the actors & then want to take action. Well done to those who created this drama.
