THEN HE KILLED THE WHOLE PLAN. THE AGENTS FAILED ONE INTERNAL TEST THAT NOBODY OUTSIDE META HAS SEEN.
here's the test they failed: code changes across meta were up 220 percent year over year. features that reached users were up only 36. that gap is the whole story.
project ot: turn meta into an "ai-native" company, agents handle routine work, smaller teams supervise, fewer managers. docs floated cutting some teams by up to 60 percent. phase one ran in may, about 10 percent of the workforce. phase two was booked for november. zuckerberg killed it the night before phase one landed.
why: security incidents up 40 percent, people burning 70 percent more time firefighting instead of building. approval dropped from 74 to 55 once staff learned meta was tracking keyboard and mouse activity for the buildout.
i've watched this pattern three times this year: leadership says agents will replace headcount, then the metric nobody planned to publish, commits up, output flat, is what kills it. if your plan can't survive that comparison, it's not ready to cut a job.
$130 billion still goes into ai infra this year regardless.
if commits go up 220 percent and shipped features go up 36, is that ai making people faster or just making more noise?

Crucially, this will be implemented AFTER necessary cuts are delivered.
Our plan will not only give hardworking British men and women a huge financial boost, it will get inflation under control.
VAT will be brought down to 18%.
Along with abolishing stamp duty and inheritance tax, with vast swathes of stealth taxes being eradicated.
That means more money in a more affordable economy.
In addition, Restore Britain will abolish corporation tax on the first £50,000 of profits for all companies. With profits over £50,000 we propose an immediate restoration of the 19% rate, with an aspiration to reduce this to 15% as soon as fiscal conditions allow.
The economy will boom.
We have proposed exactly how we will fund this.
Cuts to welfare, funding for foreign nationals, quangos, net zero spend, freezing departmental budgets, NHS reform and more.
This is a properly considered policy document.
It's boring, tedious work - but this is exactly what we need to prepare. It's what Britain needs. Not nonsense slogans. An actual plan.
