Every Kaplan–Meier curve represents someone’s life. As we head into #ESMO26, these 10 principles for humanising science reporting are an important reminder that how we communicate cancer research matters as much as what we report. Beyond hazard ratios, response rates and p-values, we need to ask: 🔹 What does this mean for patients? 🔹 What is the treatment burden? 🔹 Who can actually access this innovation? 🔹 What uncertainties remain? Good science reporting doesn’t just communicate results. It communicates why they matter. Excellent guidance from @myESMO. 👏

Might need some penalty kicks or maybe some QOL data/PROM could decide ? We could ask the fans? #lcsm
Nothing like a lung cancer World Cup semifinal press release- sac-TMT/pembro beats chemo/IO for st4 PD-L1 neg nonSQ NSCLC (given prior positive studies sac-TMT now has scored 3 spectacular goals!) This sets up a really interesting #lcsm first line World Cup finals match between ivonescimab and sac-TMT! Might need some penalty kicks for a decision.. Which will deliver the trophy of FDA approval/ larger market share - and most importantly improved patient outcomes until the next challenger shows up? Hope we wont need to wait 4 years!

G’day @simongerman600 I enjoyed your piece in the New Daily. In your discussion of new cities you forgot @alburywodonga (much like our governments often do so don’t feel bad) - defence hub, manufacturing, distribution, 2 universities, health sector thenewdaily.com.au/news/peop…

Hard to comprehend #bordeaux #gironde
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.

Gianni Infantino has given FIFA’s 211 member associations 53 days: approve the partial sale of the World Cup’s commercial rights to private investors, or accept a sharp cut in the development funding most of them depend on. 53 days to decide the ownership in perpetuity and commercialisation of the world’s most loved tournament, now almost a century old. He developed the scheme in secret, and is forcing individual associations to decide months before the next Congress meets next March. No Congress debate. No Congress vote. No testing of the concept, financials, projections, people and organisations involved. Just a time-limited, financially punitive choice imposed on each member separately. Reports indicate a high-paid commissioner-style role at the new commercial entity could be created for him, potentially delivering a multi-million salary far beyond his current pay. He is using the organisation’s own assets as leverage against its members, while positioning himself to benefit personally from the structure he is racing to lock in. The President of FIFA exists to serve the organisation and every association equally. Not an external investment consortium. Not a selected group of compliant members. And not himself. This is not democracy. It is not governance. It is not leadership. It is coercion dressed as opportunity. He should be removed.
🚨 NEW: Gianni Infantino, the under-pressure Fifa president, has given members a 53-day deadline to back his plans to sell stakes in the World Cup or face a 75 per cent reduction in potential funding. In a letter sent to all 211 member associations by the Fifa president, Infantino has promised riches of up to $10bn to be made accessible as early as January 1, 2027, and he also offered access to as much as £30m through his new ‘Fifa Forward Enterprise’ proposal. However, Infantino has warned any members who oppose his private investment plan will be cut out of the new funding model should it still get waived through by associations. @Tom_Morgs has all the details ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

Highlighting Jen why more than ever we need to keep going on national efforts to streamline processes, coordinate efforts, harness digital health, increase capacity and make OZ a more attractive destination to conduct more trials. #dct #clinicaltrials
Phase 1 trial waitlists in 2026 are becoming untenable. What was once viewed as a last-line option for a small number of patients now increasingly resembles a transplant-style allocation problem: too many eligible patients, too few slots, and no consistent framework for deciding who gets access. KRAS trials are among the hardest. Patients deteriorate or screen-fail while waiting, and sites compete globally for a handful of places on studies where the number of participating centres vastly exceeds the available slots. The science has never been more exciting. But the inequity (and the heartbreak) are becoming impossible to ignore. It is the best of times. It is the worst of times.

Can't wait for the fam and I to get down to watch Victory in the new season, as we have done since the league's inception in 2005. If you enjoyed WC, give the A-league a go, support the game and see the next emerging socceroos in your back yard in our timezone. #aleague @gomvfc
Now this WC is over its time to get behind your local game. Dont give me that BS about “ThE aLeAgUe SuX”! The majority of the socceroos of this world cup started out in the A League. The A League is uniquely ours, get on board.

Cruel on the @Socceroos - easy to put blame on Popa, Ryan, the ones who missed…but pens are always fine margins. Overall, Australia had a good World Cup, and the basis of a decent side is there. Asian Cup only months away. Now, pollies - don’t put your scarves away - invest!
