Say NO to Sumrall! This is not a brand or statistical fit for Florida right now. (With no disrespect to former Kentucky LB Sumrall, but Florida's fanbase should not have to endure what is statistically likely to be Billy Napier part 2. 2x Sunbelt champ at Troy after Billy left for Florida. Took over at Tulane, where Willie Fritz won 12 games, and then 11. Sumrall won 9 in year 1, and is now 9-2 this year.)
The results between Napier and Sumrall are highly correlated. If you hire Jon Sumrall, you are statistically hiring a defensive-minded Billy Napier. Both coaches feature dominant G5 records with small average margins of victory and an unsustainably high win rate in close games.
