I opened Codex, asked 3 basic questions of Astra, working for a total of 67 seconds, and apparently my 5H usage is down to 49%. Wut..
Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I just saw that @opencode will send any content between ` (backticks) to the shell.
My concern with this is, I will almost always use backticks as an escape sequence for code formatting in text-contexts. This has been reinforced for multiple years of using backticks for code formatting in Discord, Markdown and many others.
Surely this opens the doors to accidental code execution in your prompts?
We took our daughters to see @lukecombs at Wembley on Saturday. They loved it, sang along to every song.
The funniest moment of the night was my 12YO not knowing who Niall Horan was, but recognised Kaleb Cooper shotgunning a beer😂
Having fun with 5.6 SOL debugging an Unreal Engine issue with hair-strand rendering in instanced-stereo that's been around for as long as I can remember - hair groups rendering in duplicate in the right eye.
Good progress - it looks like there was already a workaround in some of the rendering code regarding primitive IDs. I now have hair rendering in the correct location in the right eye in instanced stereo. Shadows are also mostly fixed - next is a lighting pass issue that only manifests on HMD and not in Emulate Stereo (probably roll-related on HMD).
That was a simple fix... ClusteredDeferredShadingPixelShader.usf had a fixed EyeIndex of 0.
Not sure why, or what the consequences will be, but now we have multi-group hair rendering in instanced stereo with correct shading in @UnrealEngine
So, @Adobe increased my price by 125%, then locked me into a full year's commitment, and want to charge a cancellation fee. Zero input from me (other than missing the email). Nice...
Had an interesting time speaking with @NickyAACampbell on Radio 5 Live this morning. First time on live, a little discombobulating hearing the show + producers talking to you. No briefings or warnings from the producers, just straight on live within 2 minutes of getting the call.
I figured there would be a whole set of warnings beforehand about language, all kinds of things... but nope, straight on. "What would you like to say?".
It was a very important discussion about social media usage for teens. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
My child's phone has Qustodio installed to monitor social media messaging and flag up any potentially harmful content.
90% of the warnings are from me 😐
Demo of @UnrealEngine 5.6 with @OpenXR, I have implemented `XR_EXT_hand_interaction` to grab Aim, Pinch, Poke and Grip/Grasp poses without requiring any vendor-specific plugins or modules.
All encapsulated within an single Plugin, purely using OpenXR.
This is paired with a Physics Asset with associated colliders and constraints, controlled by a Physics Control Asset to enable physics interaction with realistic blocking/environment interaction.
No grab mechanics in here, purely relying on friction and collision.
Currently running on Quest 3 via Link, but also working over Steam Link directly with hand tracking data passed through. Should support any runtime that provides the hand interaction extensions.
Current progress on an @UnrealEngine 5.6 @OpenXR hand-tracking implementation using the Leap Motion 2 (now defunct, only for development, also works with Quest 3).
The aim is to have a performant, physics reactive toolkit that will work for hands-on training applications.
Taking inspiration from the very-cool hands mechanics in some recent games, whilst making it adaptable for our specific environment yet still using OpenXR as the data source.

I've watched the Battlefield 6 trailer and hour-long gameplay video from Jackfrags, and honestly.... pretty hyped! It tickled that BF3 nostalgia, and the visuals & gunplay looks great. Looking forward to an October release!
Are you OK @peterkyle ?? Have you been taking media training from Diane Abbott?
If you want to overturn the Online Safety Act you are on the side of predators. It is as simple as that.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Since coming into force Online Safety Act has blocked / restricted censored content that wasn’t what the act was for. This includes immigration, parliament debates.
Wikipedia is challenging the categorisation rules as the act will mean tough restrictions on the site.
