Very special tribute at Indianapolis Motor Speedway today to honor 1973 & 1982 Indianapolis 500 winner Gordon Johncock.
Gordon would have wanted to run some laps and tire test on this perfect day...
The colors were simply amazing & beautiful under the sunny blue sky!

1952 Indy 500 - Chet Miller (Kurtis/Novi)
- Miller set new one-lap (139.600 mph)* and
four-lap (139.034 mph) records in qualifying
- Miller was a DNF @ 41 laps with a supercharger failure
* Lol, that's pretty fast for wire wheels, skinny tires & a surface paved with bricks!

In 1942, a secret underground bomb shelter was built beneath the East Wing of the White House complex as fears of an attack on Washington grew during World War II.
The modest shelter was later expanded into what became known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center, or PEOC.
Decades later, the underground facility was used by senior officials during the September 11 attacks in 2001.

On F1, AI, hybrids and algorithms, over time the contribution of the driver's art will be reduced or even rendered minimally significant. I say this as someone who worked on developing driver aids whilst with Williams. So, is this what we want? Its the burning question.

🚨 BREAKING — Orange County just filed a motion to change their position in the lawsuit brought by the Trust and its allies to stop the planned Wilderness Crossing mega-development at the gateway of the Wilderness Battlefield. The County, which had previously defended the Wilderness Crossing rezoning, has formally asked to withdraw its opposition to the lawsuit and all its defenses, leaving the developers to defend the project alone.
“We have known from the start that the Wilderness Crossing development was not only a detriment to the battlefield, but arose out of an illegal process, and we are thrilled Orange County has reached the same realization,” said David Duncan, president of the American Battlefield Trust. “Hopefully, the developers behind this wrong-headed mega-development will soon also reach the same conclusion. We look forward to working with the county to find a win-win solution that protects the battlefield as well as the interests of residents and park neighbors.”

🚨 BREAKING NEWS— In a special meeting today, the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution acknowledging the Planned Development-Mixed Use (PDM) Zoning District, which paved the way for the Wilderness Crossing mega-development rezoning in 2023, violated Virginia State Code. The resolution marks a major development in the legal fight to stop the massive development at the gateway of the Wilderness Battlefield.
“We applaud the county’s decision to reexamine the creation of the PDM Zoning District and willingness to acknowledge an error was made,” remarked American Battlefield Trust president David Duncan. “While we understand the need for the county to proceed in a methodical manner, today’s decision points to only one final result: invalidation of the Wilderness Crossing rezoning.”
