Been writing software since before the web existed. Watched social media go from amazing to a problem.
So I'm building the thing I wish existed: a private, quiet space for groups who've opted out.
No VC. No growth hacks. Just one engineer, one problem. 🛠️
The bigger pattern: the more we rely on one platform for everything, the more a single bad actor — corporate or government — can access. Smaller, distributed tools matter.
The flip side of this: it's worth asking why we've normalized platforms making those decisions on our behalf in the first place. Opting out shouldn't require a fight.
👋 We're CraftApps — building private apps for groups who've given up on big social media.
No ads. No algorithms. Just a clean space for the people you want to share with — including the ones who won't touch Facebook.
